Just a block from pretty Mejorada Park…this beautiful old two storey “casona”, in C17th Colonial times the home of the Archbishops of Merida, now totally remodeled and updated.  The ample salons have been used for many important events, in more recent times for art, book and handicraft exhibitions.

The two main doors are original, as is the staircase, one of only two of this design in the world (the other in a basilica in France).  The wood doors of the major rooms were brought from Chiapas.  Original floors still exist downstairs.
